Boyband Acapella

This is for all u girls out there, check out this Thai boy band, U.H.T, quite cute i must say haha, and their singing Thai acapella, indeed, Acapella has even been infused into Thai music. From its humble beginnings of African Americans. They kinda look like the Backstreet boys rite haha.
Check it out!. I just discovered this singer,Nat Myria this is R and B with Thai instrument infusion and RAP cool! The singer's quite pretty too haha.

Heres a video of the Joey Boy, one of the constraversion singers that was banned by the culture authorities of Thailand, although his lyrics were controvesial, it did not affect his albums sales. This is also one example of infusion of Western hip hop with Thai pop.
This was one of her earlier songs with controvesial values. here was a girl who won the talent contest organised by Grammy records to find someone who could reach out to the pre-teen market. She was discovered at the age of 14 and become very popular, venturing overseas. Mixing Western Pop and singing english songs as well. Thus, it in a way creates a Thai identity for the world. The satellite service, UBC, has removed MTV and VH1 from its programme line up.
Despite saying something about "In response to what the UBC subscribers wish to view"... UBC have replaced it with a rather unappealing G Square featuring video gaming.
A little bit of conspiracy theory suggested that the MTV channels may have been removed due to some political interference from those that want to blame the world's ills on the music that the kids watch.
There was another complain against this in the Bangkok Post.

"One such absurdity was the campaign against Thai love songs a couple of years ago during which Culture Ministry officials made a great fuss about certain hits because of fears they might encourage marital infidelity. This included the oddly-named 'Big Flabby Buttocks' ('Tai Aon Yaon') ditty, which, along with Tata Young's hit 'Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy' made up a list of 19 songs the culture officials wanted banned from the airwaves, but instead succeeded in promoting by publicising them."
This shows how music has negative effects but at the same time is a venus for oppresion of the highly authoritarian government of Thaksin at that time, the Royal Thai Police and the cultural ministry.
